Your Attention Please.

There does exist a novel in which Jack Kerouac crosses over with the Cthulhu Mythos.
It is free on Creative Commons liscence here:

That is all.

So I flipped through this in PDF form and I was presented with the novel's biggest flaw from the very first page: it's written from Kerouac's point of view, referencing specific parts of On the Road and Desolation Angels, but pretty much eschewing his style in favor of straight forward narration occasionally sprinkled with Kerouac-esque descriptors. It's like reading a summary of the aforementioned novels, to a certain extent, and the result is contrived, awkward, and ultimately sort of insulting to Kerouac. At one point he's literally beating fans off of him. What?! I mean c'mon, it's not Kerouac without his trademark style. If the novel had been written in that form - now that would truly be an accomplishment. As it is though, it seems sort of a lazy attempt without it.

You're right. It would have been a bit better if he had at least tried to write it in Lovecraft's pulpy erudite style.
